Derrick Jones Jr. diagnosed with neck sprain

DJJ suffered the injury in the third quarter of tonight’s Heat loss.

The Miami Heat announced that forward Derrick Jones Jr. suffered a neck sprain in the third quarter of their loss to the Indiana Pacers tonight.

The diagnosis was made after the team ran MRI, CT scan and concussion tests after he was taken off the court in a stretcher.

He suffered the injury with 1:05 remaining in the third quarter when Derrick collided with Goga Bitadze.

Jones, Jr. will be re-evaluated again over the weekend and is expected to be listed as day-to-day.
