The NBA announced the finalists for the end-of-season awards today, and the Miami Heat have some representation. Kendrick Nunn is one of the finalists for the Rookie of the Year award alongside Ja Morant and Zion Williamson, the top two picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. And Bam Adebayo made the list of finalists for the Most Improved Player award. Brandon Ingram and Luka Doncic are the other finalists.
Heat’ Bam Adebayo, Kendrick Nunn named finalists for NBA awards. https://t.co/oQbLtRAtKN No nod for Dragic for Sixth Man Award, Adebayo for Defensive Player of the Year, or Spoelstra for Coach of the Year.

Nunn was a distant second to Morant for the Rookie of the Year award for most of the year. As I said back in April, I won’t be surprised if Nunn fell to third; Zion Williamson played just 19 games before the season suspension, but he was good.
As for Adebayo, I expect him to have a legitimate chance to win Most Improved Player. His season replicates the path past winners have taken — go from a good player to an All-Star.
