GAME PREVIEW: Heat look to regain form against Magic

The Miami Heat return home to host the Orlando Magic

The Miami Heat will hope to play more as they did in their home opener than they did their road opener when they host the Orlando Magic on Monday night at FTX Arena.

After dropping 137 points over the Bucks, the Heat only mustered up 92 points in an overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers over the weekend. Now the Heat (1-1) will look to get back on track when they host the Orlando Magic (1-2) who are coming off their first win of the season.

The Magic will be on the other side of a back-to-back as they won in New York on Sunday night behind 29 points from Cole Anthony. The Magic are actually a team that the Heat will match up really really well against — and “should” have no problem winning this game. The Magic do start a big lineup — but not one the Heat will have much trouble defending. Jimmy Butler again will likely have a rookie (Jalen Suggs) guarding him from time to time and should make the most of it.

The Magic do have Terrance Ross. And last time I checked, Ross is averaging 67 points per game against the Heat for his career or something close to that. Ross is a bonafide #RSHK and the Heat should expect a season-high from Ross off the bench in this game.

The KEY MATCHUP is going to be Bam Adebayo vs Mo Bamba. Two young and talented big men on the block. Bamba has the length to bother Bam even if he drives past him. And Bamba is having a good season so far, leading the Magic in scoring. Most notably, he’s currently averaging 3 BPG. Bam is going to have to have his mid-range jumper ready to keep Bamba honest.

Let’s just hope Tyler Herro keeps this thing rolling! Will he lead the Heat in scoring again?
