GAME PREVIEW: Miami Heat back in action tonight, host Chicago Bulls

New, comments

Miami must put last night’s disappointing loss behind them and turn in a stronger performance.

NBA: Miami Heat at Atlanta Hawks Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Heat (31-29) really blew it down the stretch last night against an injury-depleted yet feisty Atlanta Hawks team, but today is a new day with the Chicago Bulls (25-34) visiting the AmericanAirlines Arena and with it an opportunity to add to their three-game home winning streak.

This will be the second time these two teams face off. Jimmy Butler scored 28 points to help defeat the Bulls 101-90 on March 12 in their first matchup of the regular season. Zach LaVine led his team with 30 points that night, but he will not be available tonight for Chicago due to COVID health and safety protocols.

Much like the Heat have tended to do this season, the Bulls have alternated bursts of winning and losing streaks. They have won three of their last four games, but prior to that they were 0-5, 3-0, and 0-6.

Expect to see plenty of Dewayne Dedmon tonight against former Orlando Magic big man Nikola Vucevic, who is always capable of going off against the Heat — as he is well known to have done consistently over the years. Worryingly, he helped power his new team to victory in their last game with 18 points and matching his season high of 16 rebounds against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night.

ODDS: FiveThirtyEight gives the Heat a 68% chance to win the game.
